I just watched this inspiring video By Simon Sinek about why do we need a why and it really got me thinking that if we all paused to think about why we do anything we probably would make better decisions in our lives.
Think about it. Why are you getting married? Why choosing this person over other people? Why are you getting an education? Why are you working for someone else as opposed to for yourself? Why are you happy or unhappy about your life?
As Simon explains it in his video, more often than not we go about all wrong. Most people make decisions using their heads, going over facts and figures, pros and cons, etc. That's what we've been taught, right? "Use your head" we've been told by our parents, teachers, etc.
When we ask ourselves why, we are using our intuition, we are listening to our soul, our hearts, or whatever else you want to call it. Why would this be a better way of making a decision? Using our intuition is linked to our feelings, our passion, and our true beliefs. When we do something with passion we are sure to succeed. Passion is what keeps us going when the going gets tough, when everything seems to be going against us. Passion is what makes us persevere despite anything and anyone. Most people quit just before succeeding simply because they lacked the perseverance and the passion to see things to the end.
What is your passion? Mine is to help people achieve their dreams of financial freedom, to be their own boss, to not wake up to the sound of an alarm clock, to take charge of their lives and not let their boss determine when to take a vacation, for how long and where, what car to drive, where to send their kids to school. Then come back and tell me, what is your why?
